Banyan
Farm is a spacious, lawned and shady tourist park on the banks of
the Daly River. It has been the preferred location for the
Barra
Nationals since 1998 and the
Barra Classic since 2000.
The
owners, Kerri and Wally Draper, promote a relaxed, easy going,
friendly and cheerful atmosphere and encourage guests to enjoy their
traditional Northern Territory hospitality.
Being the
home of the two premier barra fishing competitions it is not
surprising that Banyan Farm prides itself in catering for the needs
of barra fisherman, whatever their level of experience.
Banyan
Farm provides an easy to use boat ramp, safe and secure pontoon
mooring for more than forty boats, a convenient filleting table and
up to date fishing and tidal information.
Activities
other than fishing include swimming and lounging in the shady pool
enclosure, hand feeding the numerous wallabies that frequent the
park, bird watching at one of the large and secluded billabongs on
the property and safely observing crocodiles from the bank above the
pontoons.
Banyan
Farm is an officially appointed 'River Watch Centre' and as such
provides government information regarding navigation, boat safety,
tidal predictions, fishing regulations and environmental aquatic
issues.
We have
completed new covered eating and entertainment areas for your
convenience.
